Laurence Howe has an MBA and a PhD in applied nuclear physics.
He left school with no real qualifications and spent a short
period in the Royal Signals where he worked in the fields of
digital electronics and cryptography. Following that, he worked
in various environments, including retail, office and engineering.
He then became an analogue electronics technician.
Later he transferred into a career as a training professional,
where he began teaching electronics and microprocessor applications
before specialising in team building and leadership.
He went on to gain a first class honours degree in maths
and physics before undertaking post-graduate studies in neutron
scattering and computer modelling. After a short period as a
computational physicist, he concentrated on risk-based studies
and currently works as a consultant. He has recently
completed an MBA with the Open Business School and,
with a team of colleagues, he concentrates on the interface between
business and technical risks.
