Laurence Howe has been writing poetry since 1962. Since
that time he has accumulated more than sixty poems. He first
became interested in poetry as a teenager, and has found
considerable satisfaction in writing. In particular, it offers
a rewarding method of self expression and is a
means of using words and ideas as a craft in its own right.
His output has been sporadic, often associated with periods
when other activities have been less rewarding. More than
fifty poems were written in about five years. Not all of
these have survived. There followed a period of almost
fifteen years when nothing whatsoever was penned. Since that
time there has been a steady trickle of about one poem per year.
