Laurence Howe began working with risk when, as a computational
physicist, he became involved with accident risks to nuclear
power stations. The capability was extended to risks associated with
technology development projects and then to general project,
operational and interface risks. He studied strategy as part
of an MBA degree and now works with a team of colleagues
who specialise in helping organisations with the issues that
span the strategic business area and technical operations.
He has helped to develop analysis of risks associated with
operations and infrastructure, taking into account strategic
objectives. This leads to better control of the business so that,
when rapid decisions are required, the understanding
of the risks and controls ensures the most favorable outcome.
